Project 365 Day 21-24

Day 21: So I goofed up on my last post, and put the wrong day up there, hard to read the captions on the screen when they are that tiny
So I thought I would share my Target Dollar Spot Find, what a blast, might have gone a little overboard, but I have a little to share with others now :)

Day 23: I so soooo soooooo badly wanted to post a pic of my SU Spring Summer catty, but frankly I was so thrilled to have these swaps done, they took forever, that well, I just couldn't put the Catty at the top of my day. Soon it will be posted, when I get a little more time to go through it all, but sharing this accomplishment was way more worth taking a picture of, now mind you I did take a picture of my catty too, but I just couldn't do it justice, guess I couldn't find my mojo with it or something, or was just tired of waiting for it.

Day 24: It's Chris' birthday, poor guy is/was stuck up in Anchorage by himself, even Deb left him for the week, but scheduling had a different idea, and decided to assign him a trip this morning, to you guess it - CHICAGO :) So rather than making his cake tomorrow, like I had planned thinking he would be home for dinner on Monday, I had to make it today. Had a little help from Maddy who wanted to be deeply involved, mainly by eating the Reese Peanut Butter Cups (which she can unwrap like a pro), and sticking her fingers in the cake, I got her before she actually managed to do that part though. I made a new icing, Peanut Butter Cream Cheese. Chris is a peanut-butter-a-holic. So that is the base of the cake. Then in between the layers I did a smidge of the frosting, and a light layer of raspberry jam (homemade by us from this past summer). It's also a marble cake. So then I saw some crumb donettes by hostess, and thought 1 would be great for the pitchers mound to raise it up a little. Then I thought we needed a dirt effect instead. So I crumbed up the other 4 (ok there were 5 but I had to try one out), put a little cocoa powder in with them to make them darker, and made dirt between the bases. I think it came together ok, not one of my best, but I know he will love it, I just hope the mix of flavors comes together!
