Project 365 - Week 4 Completed Layout
Here's Week 4 of Project 365, commemmorating Chris' birthday I used the SU Creative License Simply Scarppin' Kit, it's the same kit I used last year to scrap Chris' birthday so I thought it was only fitting. Overall, it was a great week!

Project 365 Day 21-24
Day 21: So I goofed up on my last post, and put the wrong day up there, hard to read the captions on the screen when they are that tiny
So I thought I would share my Target Dollar Spot Find, what a blast, might have gone a little overboard, but I have a little to share with others now :)
Day 23: I so soooo soooooo badly wanted to post a pic of my SU Spring Summer catty, but frankly I was so thrilled to have these swaps done, they took forever, that well, I just couldn't put the Catty at the top of my day. Soon it will be posted, when I get a little more time to go through it all, but sharing this accomplishment was way more worth taking a picture of, now mind you I did take a picture of my catty too, but I just couldn't do it justice, guess I couldn't find my mojo with it or something, or was just tired of waiting for it.
Day 24: It's Chris' birthday, poor guy is/was stuck up in Anchorage by himself, even Deb left him for the week, but scheduling had a different idea, and decided to assign him a trip this morning, to you guess it - CHICAGO :) So rather than making his cake tomorrow, like I had planned thinking he would be home for dinner on Monday, I had to make it today. Had a little help from Maddy who wanted to be deeply involved, mainly by eating the Reese Peanut Butter Cups (which she can unwrap like a pro), and sticking her fingers in the cake, I got her before she actually managed to do that part though. I made a new icing, Peanut Butter Cream Cheese. Chris is a peanut-butter-a-holic. So that is the base of the cake. Then in between the layers I did a smidge of the frosting, and a light layer of raspberry jam (homemade by us from this past summer). It's also a marble cake. So then I saw some crumb donettes by hostess, and thought 1 would be great for the pitchers mound to raise it up a little. Then I thought we needed a dirt effect instead. So I crumbed up the other 4 (ok there were 5 but I had to try one out), put a little cocoa powder in with them to make them darker, and made dirt between the bases. I think it came together ok, not one of my best, but I know he will love it, I just hope the mix of flavors comes together!

Project 365 Days 19-22, Day 21 to come
Day 19: I just love how a fresh dusting of snow makes everything so sparkly, the view from the front of our house is really nice since for now our builder has gone under and we have a beautiful view of the farmlands (just off to the side are houses and another neighborhood, but you would never know it by this view)
Day 20: So I don't know what's gotten into me this week, but I decided I really needed to focus on cleaning, and what better way to start than by changing the sheets and making the bed. And it has stayed that way almost all week :)
Day 22: Today I watch a couple of boys and Maddy thought it was past time to teach the 9 Month Old, Collin, time to vacuum, he did a mighty fine job too, he actually went on for quite a few minutes, next time I will put the chair on rollers so Maddy can push him around and get the whole floor!!

ps. had a little goof, Day 22 ended up in this post, and I just don't feel like moving it, between have to bat off maddy and just having to concentrate too hard to do it, I just didn't think it was worth the move :)

Proj 365, Days 17 & 18
Day 17:
Well, when someone decided to wake up for her nap, she thought the basket of fake food should just go down the stairs??
So the poor basket is just lying at the bottom of the stairs, empty, and little miss is at the top, slowly clearing off each step by either pushing items down or just throwing them down more stairs. I actually left the mess so her daddy could check it out when he got home, her only saving grace is that she did help me pick up every item and put them back in the basket. I just had to chuckle though at this first time event involving this basket.
Day 18:
I just don't think we will be doing any grilling anytime soon. Besides the snow covered grill, it's still way to cold to be outside!!!

Project 365 - Day 12-16 Pics
I am so glad I found out about the 365 Day Project as I am having a blast with it.
Here are my Day 12-16 pics. I jsut found it easier to collage them using Picasa to share them with you, rather that do individual postings.
And yep that Bottom Rihtones says -24, certainly the coldest temp I have ever experiences, that was around 9am today, BRRRRRR

Project 365 Pics Days 5-11
Well hopefully this shows up ok, these are my pictures for Days 5-11. Currently printing them, so will put them on my pre-made scrap pages for this week. Hoping to find a few good embellishments, to add to the page. I know I have 2 pics for a couple of the days, but frankly I just couldn't choose, so I had to use both :)
Enjoy the pics!!
Will post the final layout in the next couple of days. I think I will wait till I print my next batch of pictures to put together week 3, especially depending on the layout, I don't like being restricted to using landscape only, so will have to see the best fit.

Project 365 Day 5 (2)
Day 5:
Well I know it's only supposed to be 1 picture per day, but frankly I couldn't resist this one either,
so hoping I can find a spot to put it on the page, or else I just have to decide which one to use, by
the end of the week. I just love how the sunlight is hitting her hair and the way the blinds are
reflecting on it makes it look all curly and kinky, even though it really doesn't have that much
crimp to it.

Project 365 Day 4 & 5
Day 4:
So hubby got home from China last night, but of course by the time we pulled into the driveway it was today :)
Here are some of the goodies he brought back in addition to a Chinese Monopoly game - we can't understand a thing
and he finally splurged and bought himself a Red Sox Jersey. Maddy got some great panda slippers that she won't take off.
And well these are my goodies, lots and lots of pearls!!!
Day 5:
We are almost done cleaning up Christmas and forgot to take one important picture this year.
When Maddy was born the hospital put her in a stocking to bring her home in. Last year she
was still able to get into the stocking (sort of), well this year not so much, so we managed to get
her to hold the stocking in front of her, of course all she wanted to do was walk towards mommy
so we got an extreme closeup :)

The first 2 weeks of layouts for 365 Day Project
Week 1 Layout for 365 Day project
Week 2 Layout, ready to be filled in
I decided for the 365 Day project I would make my own layouts using stuff I already have.
After doing some cleaning this morning, I found I really had a ton of great stuff that
I can incorporate into this project without having to purchase a single thing.
Well, except I do need an album to put this all into!!!

My 1st 3 Days of the 365 Project

Ok so I'm a slacker
I really need to get better about my blog so here goes. Couple of things I have either done or want to accomplish.
First of all starting on 12/28 I decided to do a Stamp to Spend Challenge, I will pay myself for making cards and Scrapbook pages, only problem is, I don't make any money, so I just might have to raid Maddy's piggy bank. I am also paying myself for each exercise minute. I didn't exercise today, but only because I felt so darn crummy. But I am up to 55 minutes since 12/28 - 5 days in a row!
Ok so first off, I actually completed a Demo Challenge on Splitcoast. It's for the monthly Wicked challenge, and I decided to do 2 of the 3 challenges. Here's the details for the challenges
Color Combo:
Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral and Blush Blossom
Sketch:
Technique:
Sparkly Stained Glass. Beate's tutorial is here.
And here's my take on the Color Combo and the Sketch:
Here's the details:
Stamps: Bitty Birthdays |
Paper: Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, Baja Breeze |
Ink: Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom, Baja Breeze |
Accessories: Gold EP, Gold Elastic Cord, Square Scallop |
Techniques: Embossing, Masking |
Difficulty (1-Easy 5-Advanced): 2 |
So I am glad I managed to put in a little creative time today, mainly thanks to my hubby who decided it was time to rearrange the basement (again), now mind you we have only lived here two years, but we rearrange rooms all the time, someday we will get it right. So I did this with what I had organized, but overall I am pleased with what turned up.
Ok, so the next thing I am going to tackle, besides my goal of 10 Scrapbook pages this month, most will be due to the great challenges posted on Splitcoast, and the Virtual Scrapbooking Night at the end of this month is the Becky Higgins 365 project. In a nutshell you are to take a picture each day and do a quick journal about it. Well as much as I would love to take a picture every day as a small snippet of my life, it just isn't going to happen, however, you may see Newspaper articles, recipes, or something that just inspired me that day. So while it will be mostly pictures, I will be adding in a few other tidbits as well. So there you have it, stay tuned for my next entry, it should be a picture of my Week 1 layout for the 365 project. And hey there's 2 pages down for January as well, $10 here I come!!!
