Some workshop Cards

Here are just a couple of cards made at workshops recently. You can find detailed instructions and supply lists following each card, or just contact me to book a workshop and I will show you how to make both of these cards and provide all materials.
Ornament Card

  1. Cut your WW Card stock in half, so that it is 11" x 4 ¼"
  2. Cut the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" (allows 1/16" border of white around) already cut for you
  3. On a separate piece of Whisper White, stamp 3 ornaments in Marina Mist and set aside to dry
  4. Stamp Saying on Whisper White piece in Marina Mist and set aside, allow to dry
  5. While allowing your stamped images to dry:
  6. Center the Oval Embossing folder on 4 x 2 3/8" piece of Marina Mist and run through the BigShot/Die Cut machine
  7. Place other 4 x 2 3/8" piece of Marina Mist in the Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and run through the BigShot/Die Cut machine
  8. Adhere both pieces of Marina Mist on to Cherry Cobbler, I used the tombow Mono Mutli Adhesive, it only takes a little dab, otherwise it will ooze out the edges, however, this is a great permanent adhesive for layers and items of dimension
  9. Wrap Whisper White ¼" Grosgrain ribbon around the center (covering the "cut" line), and adhere to back of cherry cobbler with a little snail, you only need the ribbon to be about 5 inches long, just long enough to tack the ribbon to the back of card
  10. Now adhere your Cherry Cobbler piece to the Whisper White Cardstock
  11. Punch out the ornaments with the ornament punch and saying with the scallop oval punch
  12. On one ornament using a very light touch, run the Dazzling Details around the edges, and set aside to dry.
  13. Use 2 Stampin' Dimensional (little double sided adhesive hexagons) on the back of the punched out saying, and adhere inside your embossed frame
  14. Adhere the 2 plain ornaments on either side of cherry cobbler with snail or tombow glue
  15. Use piercing tool or exacto knife to lift off a small rhinestone and place in center of the ornament that you ran the Dazzling Detail around
  16. Use a Dimensional in center of back of "blinged ornament" and put in center

Stocking Card

Image on left I stamped the stockings directly onto the Confetti Cream CS
Image on Right I stamped the stockings onto Confetti Cream Cardstock then used the Stocking builder Punch to punch them out and pop up with a dimensional

  1. Cut your Confetti Cream Card stock in half, so that it is 5 ½" x 8 ½"
  2. Cut the Wild Wasabi Cardstock 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" (allows 1/16" border of white around) – already cut for you
  3. Cut another piece of Confetti Cream to 3 ¾" x 5", this will be the piece you add the stockings to
  4. Use the Scallop Trim Corner punch and punch each corner of the Confetti Cream piece, do not push your piece of cardstock all the way into the punch, there are small guides to only allow you to put this piece slightly in, and will line up with the Scallop Trim Border Punch also located on pg. 211 in the IB&C
  5. On a separate piece of Confetti Cream Cardstock, stamp 3 stockings in Real Red and set aside to dry (reds tend to be juicier and take a few moments to dry) (way easier to do this then to stamp directly onto the cardstock unless you use a Stamp a Majig (SAMJ))
  6. Stamp Saying on Confetti Cream Panel in Real Red and set aside, allow to dry (use either the stampset from Heard from the Heart – the one on my sample) or one of the sayings from Four the Holidays (you may want to use SAMJ, or just flip your cardstock over if you mess up a little)
  7. While allowing your stamped images to dry:
  8. Use the small piece of Silver Glimmer paper, and stick just enough in to the Stocking Builder punch to get the three pieces, heel, toe and cuff. Flip it around and do the same thing, trim off the negative part and stick in one more time. You should have a little silver glimmer paper leftover to use on another project, don't throw it away, it's too pretty and plenty left to use on something else small J
  9. Still let those stockings dry and attach the piece of Wild Wasabi (green) to your base piece of Confetti Cream. You can also adhere the Confetti Cream panel (with the saying on it)
  10. Now go ahead and punch out your Stockings, you may need to trim the piece down a bit to get it into the punch exactly.
  11. Adhere the silver glimmer accent pieces to each stocking
  12. Use piercing tool or exacto knife to lift off a small rhinestone and place in center of each stocking
  13. Use a Dimensional in center of back of each stocking, you may want to use a couple.

April Creative Crew Challenges and Samples

It's that time to unveil the new challenges and your inspiration for the April Creative Crew submissions on SplitCoastStampers.  The challenges this month were once again fantastic, and very doable.
All we ask is that you try to keep your projects at least 95% Stampin' Up! (SU)  If you are 100% SU then please use SUO as one of your keywords, if you are using a little contraband (non SU) then please also use the SUM keyword.

And lastly you definitely want to put in CreativeCrew as one of your keywords so we can find your creations.  If you have any questions you can always contact me or one of the other Creative Crew Design Team members for guidance or assistance

Well what are you waiting for - here are this months challenges, does as many or as little as you want :)  Just participate and break out your stamping supplies!!!

April 2011 Focus/Creativity sampler:
Celebrating April Showers by Al Jolson!

Life is not a highway strewn with flowers,
Still it holds a goodly share of bliss,
When the sun gives way to April showers,
Here is the point you should never miss.

Though April showers may come your way,
They bring the flowers that bloom in May.
So if it's raining, have no regrets,
Because it isn't raining rain, you know, It's raining violets,
And where you see clouds upon the hills,
You soon will see crowds of daffodils,
So keep on looking for a blue bird, And list'ning for his song,
Whenever April showers come along.

CCREW0411CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Catalog Focus: * Punches *
We all know that SU! punches rock, so this month punch us up some flowers, butterflies, birds, and bugs! You don't have to make actual punch art, but show us what your punches can do!
View more details HERE on this Bunny Card
A total CASE (copy and share everything), see where the original idea came from by clicking on the picture.

CCREW0411DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - DSP/Color Focus:
When you see Bluebirds you know spring is here! So use this very blue color combo: Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand. Which also happens to be the colors of the Blueberry Crisp DSP!
More details HERE
Well those colors screamed winter to me - not spring :)

CCREW0411HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Holiday/Seasonal Focus: * Mother Ocean *
The rain fills our Oceans with the lovely water that balances life here on earth. So in honor of Mother Ocean let's do some watercoloring! Break out your aquapainter and your inks, crayons, pencils, and blender pens! Show us watercoloring at it's best.

I didn't do a project for this, because frankly I stink at Watercoloring!!  But I may try it sometime during the month - only time will tell, however, please be sure to click HERE to check out everyone else projects.

CCREW0411SF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - SB Inspiration Focus: * NO DSP! *
Yep you have to use stamps and make your own background for your pages this month. Other than that, it's a free for all!
